Scouts (10.5-14)

We meet every Thursday from 7.30pm to 9pm (during school term time), at our Scout Hall on Dudlow Green Road, Appleton.

Fun, exciting, adventurous, and friendly are just four of the words that can be used to describe our section.

Our Scout troop is called Bonington Troop, named with his permission after Sir Chris Bonington, as long as we are careful not to put a double-n in the middle!!

We have had a second troop in the past, named Pathfinder Troop.

We pride ourselves on the diverse and exciting programme of Scouting activities which we deliver. We ensure that our Scouts take part in a wide range of activities to help them reach their full Scouting potential. It’s not about being the best in our Group, it’s about being the best you can be!

We place a lot of emphasis on teamwork, friendship, and fun. That’s why we keep our Scouts coming back week-on-week!

The Scout section is for boys and girls between the ages of 10½ and 14 years old. Although if a child is joining who is not already in our Cubs section, then they can join from 10 years old.

We may be in the midst of a pandemic, but the fun isn’t stopping. We are still meeting via Zoom, and when allowed by the Scouting Association, we are running face to face sessions.
You can contact our Group Lead Volunteer, Stephen Cummings, via the Contact Us link.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
